In the past year, big corporations have been riddled by security attacks, with hackers becoming increasingly bold and resolute. This has led market research firm The Radicati Group to predict that the corporate web security market will grow to $2.5 billion over the next four years. Amidst this climate of growing cyber threats, a young startup is trying to put companies back on the offensive, and notable Silicon Valley investors are taking notice.

Shape Security: A Stealth Startup with Ambitious Goals

Mountain View-based Shape Security has announced that it has raised $6 million in Series A financing, led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt’s Tomorrow Ventures. Accel Partner Peter Wagner, Sequoia Limited Partner Guarav Garg, Vodafone CTO Chris Burke, Baseline Ventures, and unnamed executives at LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook also participated in the round.

As a result of the new financing, Kleiner Perkins Managing Partner Ted Schlein and Sequoia’s Guarav Garg will be joining the startup’s board of directors. Shape Security is still operating in stealth mode, so it’s keeping its patent-pending technology under wraps. However, we do know that the team is working toward an invite-only beta launch this summer.

A New Approach to Web Security

Shape Security’s founders are tackling the web security problem from a different angle. Instead of focusing on traditional perimeter-based security measures, they’re targeting the root cause of the problem: the user interaction with the website. By analyzing user behavior and identifying potential threats in real-time, Shape Security aims to prevent attacks before they happen.

The startup’s technology uses machine learning algorithms to detect anomalies in user behavior, allowing it to identify potential threats even when traditional security measures fail. This approach has shown promising results in early testing, and the team is confident that it will revolutionize the way companies protect themselves against cyber threats.

A Team with a Proven Track Record

Shape Security’s founders have a proven track record of success in the tech industry. The team includes experts in web security, machine learning, and user experience design, who have worked together to develop a comprehensive solution that addresses the complex challenges facing companies today.

With their combined expertise and the support of top Silicon Valley investors, Shape Security is well-positioned to make a significant impact on the web security landscape. As the company prepares for its invite-only beta launch this summer, we can expect to see more about its innovative technology and how it plans to change the way companies protect themselves against cyber threats.

Stay Tuned for More

Shape Security’s journey is just beginning, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on their progress. With its ambitious goals and innovative approach, the company has the potential to make a significant impact on the web security landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on Shape Security and its mission to change the way companies protect themselves against cyber threats.
